Pronouncing melamine
So, I've noticed that a few colleagues have been pronouncing melamine as 'ma (as in mare)-le-meen'. I am sure that many people out there might probably pronounce it as such.
Might I take this opportunity to remind everyone out there that it is pronounced 'mel-a-mine'. It is a chemical of the class -amine, which is basically an organic compound which contains a nitrogen atom with a lone pair of electrons. A-level chemistry, people.
But then again, I don't mind all the free lunches that I am getting from the little wagers on the mispronounciations.
